OLAS! #14: Treat Me Like Your Mother by The Dead Weather
The newest release off their forthcoming album that I’m ridiculously excited for, Treat Me Like Your Mother has a lot more depth and a lot more layers than the two songs that we’ve heard already, Hang You From The Heavens and their cover of Gary Numan’s Are Friends Electric?. This song features drummer Jack White (of the White Stripes and Raconteurs) helping out their resident lead singer, Alison Mosshart (of the Kills) with some singin’. The best I’ve heard from the Dead Weather so far, and all it does is make me even more excited for their album, Horehound, which unfortunately doesn’t come out until July 14 of this year. The wait will be so worth it though.
Download the song exclusively for a limited time over at Spin Magazine’s website.
OLAS! #13: I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You by The Alan Parsons Project
This is a tune from the Alan Parson Project’s 1977 album, I Robot. It’s totally groovy, and veeeeery 70s, which is by no means a bad thing. Totally makes me feel groovy. Check it out!
OLAS! #12: Touch Me Touching You by Alphabeat
Sorry for not posting for a while, prom weekend got the best of both of us I’m afraid. But now we’re back and with a totally awesome song by Alphabeat! You’ll love this one. It’s hard not to! Check Alphabeat out here. (Sorry, no iTunes link this time. They’re not on iTunes.)
OLAS#11:You Know I’m No Good by Amy Winehouse
Sexy.
OLAS#10: Sad Sad City by Ghostland Observatory
I fall in love with Ghostland Observatory every time I hear one of their songs. This one is off their album Paparazzi Lightning. They’re totally unique and I love them. You can check them out, right over here.
OLAS! #9: He Doesn’t Know Why by Fleet Foxes
Not all too much to say about this one. Fleet Foxes are a really unique alternative band that all the hipsters are raving about. This track is off their self-titled debut album which you can check out right over here.
OLAS! #7: Heads Will Roll by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This is from their newest album, It’s Blitz!. I’m not going to say a lot here because I don’t feel like a lot needs to be said. It’s a really catchy, awesome song, and I love Karen-O’s vocals on this track. Definitely worth purchasing.
